How to make your own bow hair accessories :)

So my friend Amanda makes these cute hair bows that I am falling in love with! And here's instructions on how to make them yourself. You can use scrap fabric from old clothes you don't wear anymore. (This does require some sewing, but don't worry all you need to know is how to stitch a straight line!)

What you'll need:
-sewing machine
-pins
-scrap fabric
-hand sewing needle
-matching thread
-scissors
-hair clip

1) Cut 6" by 7 1/2"  for the actual bow and  2 1/2" by 6" for the middle of the bow (you wont actually need all 6" for the middle piece but just in case)

 2) Fold both pieces with the right sides together and pin.

3) On the bigger piece stitch about 2/8ths from the edge, leaving about an inch un-stitched because you need to flip it over later.

4) Trim the extra edges to prevent bulk.

5) Turn inside out.

6) Turn the 1" unstitched section inside and pin it.

7) Hand stitch it closed. Remember to use the same color thread to make it unnoticeable.

8) Gather it to your desire and pin it to stay in place.

9) Put thread around middle so it stays in place without a pin.

10) Stitch the vertical side of the smaller piece about 2/8ths away from the edge.

11) Put the band (smaller piece) around the bow (larger piece) and see about how much you will need, cut off the excess and turn it inside out.

12) Hand stitch the back together and you are done!

13) You can put a hair clip on the back by hot gluing it.

Remember to send me pictures of the bows you make!

My Favorites From The Golden Globes

The best part of watching award shows (other than the extremely cliche jokes)   is the red carpet, where you can admire $10,000 dresses you would die for. So shall we take a few minutes to review some of my favorite ensembles at the Golden Globes the other day? :)

Lets start with Jennifer Lawrence wearing Dior Haute Couture & Chopard. The dress did an amazing job bringing out her gorgeous eyes. I feel as if there should be flames coming out of it!

Here we have Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy. I just love how vintage the dress is, the lace just adds that perfectly elegant factor to it. My favorite part is the neckline. It actually took me a while to figure out if there was a collar or not but I don't think there is.

I wonder who this is....? Anne Hathaway of course, and just by looking at her dress you can tell it is Chanel! I really like the dress i feel like it is perfect for the Golden Globes. But it looked a bit too Grandma-ish, i would have liked to have seen her wear something more youthful like a ballgown or such.

OMFG!! .......SO Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen! Well first off this is why I love McQueen, its such a simple long elegant black dress....THEN there's always that wow factor! That collar just kills me it is so beautiful, I don't even have anything more to say hehe!

The always gorgeous Jessica Alba wearing Oscar de la Renta. She looks amazing in pastels. BUT that necklace, need I say more? All I want to say is I want to get married in that dress! It is just perfectly simple with an amazing kind of mermaid looking bottom.

Here is Kristen Bell in Jenny Packham. I bet no one even knew she was pregnant. This dress is perfect for a woman only a few months from giving birth! But the dress itself is gorgeous the bodice of it is beautifully embellished.

Here we have Naomi Watts in Zac Posen. So I'm just guessing its freezing there...I'm in Florida so I wouldn't know! Like I was saying, this dress is perfect for the weather, I would have chosen a long sleeve dress as well. I think my favorite part of the dress is the train, it flows so nicely.

This is Michelle Dockery in Alexander Vauthier. This dress reminds me of the McQueen one, just lighter. I love the lace bodice. I don't know if you can tell yet that I like simple dresses with one big wow factor.

This was actually one of my favorite dresses of the night, this is Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera. The pattern is just mesmerizing, and her simple fishtail braid just completes it. I'm rarely a fan of ball gowns, I prefer fitted dresses, but this one is just so perfect.

Julianne Hough wearing Monique Lhuillier. I don't know what it is, but I am oddly attracted to this dress. I mainly like the top of it and how the sparkles just flow down the dress perfectly. I think this is a very good head-turner dress, its not too out there, but its just enough crazy it works really well.

Nicole Kidman wearing Alexander McQueen! I kind of feel like she should have switched dresses with Anne Hathaway...just saying. My favorite part has to be the middle section. I think its just too young for her, it doesn't quite look right on her.

YOU GO GLENN CLOSE! I couldn't help myself...but yea she is wearing Zac Posen. All I can say is she knows how to rock her age! I love how you can also imagine Sofia Vergara wearing it and it looking good in it as well. This dress is very nice for many ages.

And to end with, I give you the two most awesome people in the world! I have nothing to say except Helena Bonham Carter is the only person that can pull of this Gothic Dolce & Gabbana dress with a lips purse and sunglasses!

I got all the photos from here if you want to look at some of the dresses I didn't post. Thanks for reading! Don't forget to comment! STAY AWESOME!

Sorry I've Been Gone!

I apologize for not posting that often, I am going to try to post once a week. Thanks for understanding :)!!

Spiked Studs.....EVERYWHERE!

I've noticed lately EVERYTHING has spike studs on them. I am in love with spiked shoes i find them so cute! But what do you wear with them?? Since the spiked shoes are already really loud, let the rest of the outfit be simple and quieter. If the rest of the outfit is really crazy and loud you'll probably end up looking like lady gaga (I mean I love lady gaga, but you wouldn't wear a meat dress to the movies, would you?). Wear some light colored jeans they can be a light washed jean or a colored jean (like light purple and such). Pair it with a sheer top with spiked studs on it (preferably on the shoulder or the sleeve) it can be long sleeve or a short sleeve, (I like the longer better). You could also pair the spiked shoes with a simple little black dress if you are looking to go a bit fancier. Than put on a cute long necklace and some bangles on, give yourself big curls in your hair or a cute big bun and VIOLA your done! All of these things you can find under $50 at stores like Forever 21 and Pacsun and H&M....except the really cute spiked boots their Jeffrey Campbell.....which are well over $100 :( BUT you can wear any spiked shoe, a ballet flat, a simple heel, or boots! And later this month I'm going to try to make a video on how to stud your own clothes!
